Why did Triple H not renew wrestling star Goldberg's WWE contract?

Goldberg was the biggest name in WCW until 1998 when he was sold to WWE. He went undefeated in one-on-one battles in WCW from 1997 to 1998. When Vince McMahon found WCW, Goldberg was on the sidelines for a few years. It is also said that McMahon brought Goldberg to WWE specifically for his special feud with Triple H, another rising wrestler in the company.

Goldberg and Triple H went on to feud at several pay-per-views, from Unforgiven to Survivor Series and Elimination Chamber. McMahon wanted to make the most of Goldberg and Triple H's in-ring rivalry. Goldberg also won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H, which was won again by 'The Game' a few months later.

Goldberg is now a free wrestler and can join any wrestling company he wants to. WWE Creative Head Paul Triple H Levesque has decided not to renew the contract of wrestler Bill Goldberg.

William Goldberg was born on December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to a Reform Jewish family, Goldberg played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and earned a scholarship to the University of Georgia.

The WWE Universe is perplexed as to why they did not allow a farewell match for Goldberg, who was once one of the top performers in wrestling and is considered one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE. It seems that Triple H, who now makes the creative decisions, was behind Vince McMahon bringing Goldberg back from his retirement in 2016.

The wrestling world is abuzz with rumors that Triple H didn't renew his contract because of his personal animosity against Goldberg. The truth is I don't like the guy and I enjoy wearing the belt he wears. So politely calls it his own because in fact, it was mine before." During his interview on the WWE show Bite in 2003, Goldberg said.
