IND vs WI series : Indian players are tested COVID-19 positive including Shikar Dhawan

Shreyas Iyer, Shikar Dhawan and Ruturaj Gaikwad tested COVID positive with a standby player Navdeep Saini just before the West Indies series of 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches. This series starting from 6 February, Sunday and all these white ball cricket matches will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 



BCCI said that there are seven members of Indian team management tested positive for COVID-19 including the player's. T Delip the fielding coach, B Lokesh the Security Liaison Officer, and Rajveer Kumar the Massage Therapist.

Mayank Agarwal is the included in squad and it is blessing in disguise for him because there is no other Opener in the squad after Shikar and Ruturaj tested positive and K L Rahul is on rest for the first One Day International and after the Mayank's squad addition the squad is around of 26 players with net bowlers.



All the Indian players are in quarantine in Ahmadabad and each and every player was also goes through RT-PCR test at home before reaching to Ahmadabad and if they are tested positive rest at home. All the COVID-19 positive's are shifted on the different floors of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Ahmadabad.



Indian team needs to be in Quarantine for 3 days before practice session and the 3rd day was on 2 February but after this COVID strike in team this is gonna be hard to start the practice session on time.

West Indies cricket board informed that there is no positive case in there squad the statement by the CWI (Cricket West Indies) is "We were all negative before we left Barbados and all -ve on our arrival test at the airport yesterday in Ahmadabad. We are in room isolation on a separate floor to the Indian team as per the protocol." as the BCCI informed by CWI.

The Good news is that the Series is safe till now.
